You may use the key word search operators AND or OR in the Foundation Name field. You may also exclude words using the Without Words field.

TIP: Foundations are sometimes known by more than one name or version of that name. Experiment by entering part of the name and specify the location if you know it.

    Location

Specify the Location of your foundation prospects based on
    • City
    • County
    • State
    Locations may also be excluded.
Cities and Counties may be linked with connectors And & OR.
Use the CTRL Key to select multiple states

    Assets Range:

The Asset Level of a Foundation determines how much they are required to give out to qualified 501C3 organizations.

FoundationSearch sorts foundations by their size based on their ledger or book value of their financial assets.

In keeping with Internal Revenue Code rules, the foundation is required to distribute approximately 5% of the average fair market value of its assets each year. Qualifying distributions meeting this requirement include grants and certain operating expenses.

Therefore, measuring a foundation's capacity tells us how much they can give.

TIP: You may select more than one set of asset ranges by using the shift key and blocking those you wish to select.
  •   Select a lower set of ranges to eliminate large national foundations.
  •   Select a higher set of ranges to eliminate small foundations with limited capacity.
